Hope For The Warriors Rings the NASDAQ Opening Bell

Nonprofit joined by senior military officers and wounded veteran to ring opening bell for the market.

On Friday, December 28, 2012, Hope For The Warriors? rang The NASDAQ Stock Market Opening Bell at the NASDAQ MarketSite in Times Square to begin the trading day. Hope For The Warriors? staff, board members, service members, and military families attended. Hope For The Warriors? is a national nonprofit organization that assists combat wounded service members, their families, and families of the fallen.

Special guests included Col. Julian Alford, USMC; Capt. David A. Lane, USN, MD; and Sgt. Sean DeBevoise, USMC (Ret.), wounded veteran.

DeBevoise is originally from New City, NY, and now resides in Hamlet, NC. On May 17, 2006, on a combat raid outside of Zaidon, DeBevoise received shrapnel and four bullet wounds across his body including one that penetrated his head. DeBevoise medically retired from the Marine Corps in June 2009.

Alford is currently at the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) in New York. He has previously commanded the Basic School in Quantico, VA, and has commanded in both Afghanistan and Iraq. He was commissioned as an officer in the Marine Corps 25 years ago.

Lane is the commanding officer for the Naval Hospital aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune. He has served in the Navy for more than 37 years.
